Mother’s Day is on the 15th of March 2026. It’s a day that honours mothers and mother figures like grandmas, sisters, aunties, carers and guardians. There are many different ways young children can say thank you on Mother’s Day. Like giving flowers, chocolates or other gifts like breakfast in bed. Mother’s Day crafts for toddlers are a brilliant way to keep them occupied and a much more personal gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother’s Day craft ideas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before you get started, cover the crafting area with a tablecloth, rubbish bag or newspaper. Toddlers love to get creative so give them lots of paper. Also, dress them in old clothes – it might get messy! Put everything you need on the table including washable pens<\/a> or paintbrushes, glue and craft supplies like tissue paper, pom poms or lolly sticks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Draw a card <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Folding a piece of A4 card in half is all you need to create a Mother’s Day card. Your toddler can draw on the outside with washable pens or crayons and another family member can help write a message inside. Alternatively, cut out a heart shape which they can decorate and can be glued to the card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make some flowers <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As flowers typically symbolise Mother’s Day, there are many fun crafts you can do with your toddler depending on the materials you have at home. Lolly sticks can form the stems and the flowers can be created with screwed-up tissue paper, coloured paper or pom poms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get painting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Painting is a fantastic Mother’s Day activity for toddlers as they can create flowers by painting their hands or fingertips. The stems can be created with green paint or with lolly sticks. Fingerprint art is always great fun. You could also use a small sponge, celery or the inside of a toilet roll folded into a heart shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a frame <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you have lolly sticks, you can create a frame by glueing 4 or 8 together to form a frame. These can then be stuck to a small picture for a nice personal gift. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s always creating a unique sculpture with plasticine – just make sure they don’t try to eat it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
